Which are the spheres to volunteer in Armenia?

Volunteer opportunities are available in a wide variety of sectors and organizations. One can volunteer in medical and social spheres, in the fields of culture, sports, education, work with children and youth, participate in international work camps in Armenia, and learn Armenian language, etc.

When and where to apply?

People from all over the world aged 21 and older can apply to volunteer in Armenia. Volunteer opportunities are available year-round. To apply for volunteering in Armenia, you can contact the following organizations:

Armenian Volunteer Corps – AVC 

Since 2001, AVC welcomes to Armenia those seeking a professional internship or looking for something less formal and offers more than five hundred active placements. In addition to customized volunteer placement or internship in the capital city of Yerevan and throughout Armenia, AVC supports volunteers to integrate into life in Armenia by providing airport pick-up, living arrangements in host-families, Armenian language classes, etc.

HUJ – Voluntary Service of Armenia

HUJ – the Republican Headquarters of Student Brigades was founded in 1965, with the headquarters situated in Yerevan. HUJ is a member of the Coordinating Committee of International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) at UNESCO and the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations. HUJ organizes international work camps in Armenia. The types of work include ecological, cultural, aesthetic work with children, etc. The volunteers are hosted by the organizations, which provide accommodation. Volunteers are also given leisure time to discover Armenia.

Birthright Armenia

Birthright Armenia was founded in 2003 with the aim to strengthen ties between Armenia and Diaspora youth representatives by offering volunteer internship opportunities and travel fellowships. All those aged 20 to 32 and having Armenian descent, and willing to stay a minimum of two-month in Armenia are eligible to apply to volunteer with Birthright Armenia.
